Pit-iful Campaign

Gavino, Gwendolyn. Pit-iful Educational Information Design System and Campaign, 2024

Overview:

Pit-iful is an educational information design system and campaign I created to spread awareness of and correct harmful stereotypes surrounding pit bulls. The graphics I created for this system included a poster, infographic, social media graphics, and a logo/title cover. For the logo of the design, I created a graphic of a pit bull (and different variations of this graphic for the infographic) and pink paw prints with heart shaped paw pads to encourage sympathy and make them appear more sweet and less threatening to people with fears towards pit bulls. The name itself “Pit-iful” is to combine pit bull, beautiful, and pitiful. For the color palette of this system, I used pinks and white since this color combination is used to evoke calmness and associated with innocents, cuteness, and kindness. I also researched all the information in the graphics from credited sources and included images of pit bulls that make them appear sweet and non-threatening.
